Transactional Analysis In Hale & Deansgate

From my therapy rooms in Hale, Altrincham and Deansgate, Manchester, I specialise in Transactional Analysis.

Transactional Analysis (or TA as it is often called) was developed by psychiatrist Dr Eric Berne in the 1950s and was one of a few therapeutic models developed at that time as an alternative to traditional analysis.

It is a theory of personality and interaction and also a method of psychotherapy, personal growth and change.

The fundamental principles of TA are of mutual respect, recognising the value and worth of everyone, believing in everyone’s capacity to change and our inbuilt drive for health.

TA, when used for short-term therapy,  focuses on dealing with here-and-now events and circumstances and when in longer-term therapy we look more deeply into patterns of behaviour, past events and relationships.

We have all the resources we need to make changes and develop a healthy life.  The difficulties experienced are not from something missing in our personality or defects of some sort, but how we learned to survive early on.   We can change that and do things a different way.
